History of CRCCC

Our first CRCCC Poster back in the day

The Cork Radio Control Car Club, or CRCCC, was conceived in 2010, but only really came to be as we know it in March 2011, when we registered the domain www.crccc.ie

Around March 2011 we began posting You Tube videos and also created a Facebook page, to really begin promoting the club with posters and news.

In the summer of 2011 we started using the mini Moto Cross track at Vernon Mount in Cork, and then later that year We started building our first track adjacent to Curraheen Grayhound Stadium, but we did not have permission to develop the site with jumps or a rostrum.

In August of 2012, we moved to our first rented location at Castalack near Brinny. Here we installed a rostrum, some jumps covered in Astro turf, a raised pit lane and a fully enclosed off road track in accordance with RCCAOI regulations.

We started holding our first electronically timed races using RF Laps transponders and timing software, and On the 21st of July 2013, we were very proud to host a round of the RCCAOI National Championships.

In August 2013, we moved to our current location, Killeady, Ballinhassig, which the first location we have had, exclusively for club use. We are now using AMB My Laps timing, and publishing the results through our website.

At the time of writing, we are preparing to host a round of the RCCAOI National Championship for the third time on the 25th / 26th of July 2015.
